Summary

The Extraction Manager is a highly motivated, multi-tasking individual with a deep and up-to-date knowledge of cannabis extraction methods and a passionate desire to create the best concentrates and to continually improve upon them. This hands-on position is responsible for the oversight and direct involvement in the extraction of cannabis flower and trim using commercial extraction equipment and other methods to produce various forms of cannabis concentrates as well as crude oil for further processing into a formulated oil and distillate production batches in accordance with established regulations.

Salary

$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 / year

Working Environment

Full Time, Day Shift Additional Responsibilities: · Utilize computers, software applications, and instrumentation to complete and record the extraction and refining processes and other necessary duties · Properly destroy cannabis waste materials per established regulations · Assist when other tasks need to be completed in the Production department · Work overtime when necessary (can be mandated) · Maintain clean department & other areas, as requested · All other duties assigned

Role Requirements

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions: Possess extensive operational knowledge of CO2 extraction (to include Waters extraction equipment), ethanol extraction, wipe-film distillation, solventless extraction, and nano-technology equipment operation · Maintain thorough documentation throughout all operations and processes · Preparation of the cannabis flower and/or trim for extraction as required · Supervise and/or perform set up and operation of production extraction and refining equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines · Monitor and adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, efficiently, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion · Inspect and maintain equipment for proper functionality · Quickly gain familiarity with equipment in order to make necessary adjustments and repairs · Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the extraction and refining rooms, including cleaning the extraction and refining equipment, tables, tools, floors, and ancillary lab materials · Perform refining functions on various laboratory equipment · Visually check and verify that refined products meet quality standards · Present new product ideas to increase the company’s offerings · Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all extraction and refining activities to ensure consistency and compliance with regulations · Work closely with licensed labs to submit tests and monitor and track test results · Troubleshoot and research issues to determine and implement the necessary course(s) of action for remedy · Collaborate and communicate with the Head of Production on processes, concerns, and progress on assignments · Follow directions from senior management regarding performance, attendance, punctuality, and productivity

Physical Requirements

· Able to stand, sit, and kneel for extended and alternating periods of time during an 8-10-hour shift · Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis · Able to work in variable temperature environments

Experience

· Extensive and successful experience in a cannabis production/manufacturing facility · Supervisory experience

Education

· High school diploma or GED · Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) · Able to secure a Nevada marijuana agent card from the Nevada Cannabis Control Board
