The Role
Responsibilities
- Ensures orderly and environmentally correct storage of media, reagents, supplies, samples, and equipment.
- Records explant biotrack information into the appropriate quality and compliance systems.
- Records notes for work in lab note book.
- Sterilizes lab equipment and media using the autoclave and other cleaning.
- Takes cuttings and prepares cuttings for initiation.
- Must follow all applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines. This includes the safe and proper operation of any/all applicable machinery, instrumentation, and lab equipment.
- Understand and meet daily goals and work as part of a team to meet tissue culture schedule and objectives as defined by Tissue Culture Specialist.
- Conducts a variety of standardized tests and analyses, such as viral testing, in accordance with established methods and procedures while ensuring quality control and time constraints are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Work involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil).
Qualifications
- Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility with focus and personal contributions towards a clean and organized assigned work area at the end of the assigned shift.
- Flexibility and the ability to shift work schedule according to production needs.
- High degree of proficiency in excel and ability to take detailed notes on daily work.
- Basic lab safety and cultivation experience.
Additional Requirements
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver's license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
