Role Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Cultivation Excellence: Lead all cultivation efforts from seedling to harvest, focusing on sustainable and efficient practices. Manage daily operations including cloning, transplanting, feeding, and integrated pest management.

  • Strategic Cultivation Planning: Select and refine cannabis strains that align with our brand and market demands. Drive initiatives in genetic development and strain improvement to enhance quality and yield.

  • Operational Management: Oversee the upkeep of cultivation facilities, ensuring all equipment and grow areas are maintained to the highest standards of health, safety, and efficiency.

  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure our cultivation operations comply fully with state and local cannabis cultivation regulations. Keep abreast of changing laws and implement necessary adjustments in collaboration with our compliance team.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, and lead a team of cultivation professionals. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

  • Quality Control and Assurance: Implement rigorous standards for quality control and assurance. Oversee the harvesting process to ensure the product meets our high-quality benchmarks.

  • Innovation and Research: Engage in ongoing research and embrace advanced cultivation technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.

  • Inventory and Record-Keeping: Manage detailed records of inventory, cultivation processes, and product batches to ensure transparency and compliance.

Physical Requirements

  • Mobility: Ability to move around various areas of the farm or facility, including navigating between different grow rooms, processing areas, and outdoor cultivation sites as required.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for planting, pruning, harvesting, and other cultivation tasks. Ability to handle tools, plants, and machinery with precision and care.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift, move, and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds. This may include bags of soil, equipment, or harvested cannabis.
  • Standing/Stooping: Ability to stand for extended periods. The role also frequently requires bending, stooping, and kneeling, particularly when planting or tending to lower grow areas.
  • Visual Acuity: Must have sufficient vision to assess plant health, spot pests or diseases, and navigate cultivation spaces safely.
  • Environmental Conditions: Comfort with working in various environmental conditions. Cultivation areas can be warm, humid, and may have strong odors due to the nature of the plants and nutrients used. Some tasks may be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Endurance: Capability to perform repetitive tasks with sustained energy, focus, and attention to detail over the course of the workday.

Experience

  • At lead 5 years experience in cannabis cultivation, with a proven track record as a Lead Cultivator or similar role.

  • Deep understanding of plant biology, cultivation techniques, and environmental controls.

  • Knowledge of cannabis genetics, strain characteristics, and market trends.

  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in team management and development.

  • Strong commitment to compliance, safety, and ethical cultivation practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
