Summary
The Role:
Schedule: Mon - Friday 730am - 4pm ET, with variables due to weather conditions and staggered spray schedules
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the outdoor field:
- Clear the field of debris
- Layout irrigation lines
- Install emitters
- Fill pots with soil
- Place the pots in the field
- Loading the field:
- Transplant young plants into pots throughout the field
- Install trellis netting
- Place plants in proper configuration
- Install irrigation emitters
- Scout for disease, insects, and poor plant health
- Growing season care:
- Prune plants
- Defoliate plants
- Ensure proper irrigation
- Assist with routine spray applications
- Scout for disease, insects, poor plant health, and 'herms'
- Harvest / Processing:
- Prepare plants for harvest
- Harvest designated plants for fresh frozen
- Process fresh frozen material
- Harvest designated plants for drying process
- Hang plants in drying trailer
- Breakdown / grind dried material
- Post-harvest:
- Conduct post-harvest field clean up
- Break down outdoor equipment for storage
- Clean out greenhouse
- Clean out pole barn
- Clean out drying trailer
- Store outdoor equipment in designated locations
- Miscellaneous
- Mow non-cultivation areas within the perimeter fence line
- Landscape along perimeter fence
- Remove miscellaneous debris
Qualifications
- Previous experience with plant life highly desirable - yes, your home garden absolutely counts!
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic math and computer skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
- Attention to detail and ability to focus on one task for extended periods of time
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently throughout a workday with given directives
Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions
- Physical demands - May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance)
- The candidate will be working outdoors in various weather conditions
Additional Requirements
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by the D.O.A. to receive an Agent badge
- Must be clean shaven and able to meet the conditions for respirator qualification
