About the Role:

What You'll Do:

Drive the strategic direction of the area with the goal to make Curaleaf the most compelling place for our customers to shop by focusing on Pricing, Assortment, Brands and Promotion
Utilize internal and external market information to anticipate trends and future customer needs to drive brand and item selection.
Visits stores weekly to proactively understand assortments, pricing and promotion presentation
Determine mix and category position profile and assigns a role to each category
Drive the category/brand review process and makes recommendations based on analysis
Work with team to develop and approve master product assortment
Determine pricing strategy for category / product that maintains Curaleaf's pricing integrity, drives sales, and gross margin dollars
Review pricing analysis to determine optimal pricing and ensure that Curaleaf is competitively priced within the marketplace in conjunction with Planning
Determine promotional price based on competition, seasonality, and events
Collaborate with Inventory Manager and Planning on inventory needs to support promotional strategy
Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure inventory optimization
Evaluate marketing effectiveness and leads changes to drive increases over prior year - post promotional analysis
Approve markdown/promotional strategy that ties to plan
Informs and elevates markdowns/promotions that do not tie to plan to Regional SVP
Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers, negotiate with vendors for best pricing and promotional support
Conducting a strong, action-oriented analysis of business and long-term planning within retail stores
Use analysis to drive assortment, pricing, and promotional placement decisions
Utilize industry information to drive brand and item selection focusing on internal mix and competition
Creates a bottoms up plan to meet total area financial targets
Mentor, train and develop junior team members
Create strong partnerships with cross-functional partners

What You'll Bring:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree; or equivalent retail experience
6+ years of experience in Associate Buying/Buying role
5+ years of experience in the retail industry
Buying, inventory management and analysis experience required
Experience in buying, merchandising, supply chain, and/or assortment decision making
Knowledge of the market, retail business and customers
Knowledge of business drivers (e.g. pricing, promotion, assortment).
Strong Financial Planning skills
Strong vendor negotiation skills
Thorough sense of product trends
Enthusiasm, Initiative and Passion
Proficiency in Excel and Tableau Preferred
