Position: Materials Manager AZ/CO

Position Summary

Job Duties

  • Oversight of Materials Team in AZ and CO (locations as assigned)
  • Develop a strong team with cross training in all functions of Material management
  • Quarterly review the SOP's
  • Develop schedules for the materials team
  • Performance reviews, corrective actions, continuous development
  • Time clock approval/time off approval
  • Cross operation training of team members
  • Instrument in hiring of new team members

Position Specific Duties

  • Effectively supports Nationally Aligned Processes across facilities.
  • Effectively develop Materials Team to ensure successful succession and ongoing development.
  • Communicate inter-departmentally (through e-mail, phone calls, & in-person meetings) to disseminate any relevant information respective to each department.
  • Facilitate & monitor the movement within the facility (both physically & electronically) of: Medicated & Non-Medicated raw materials; Medicated & Non-Medicated work-in-progress items; Medicated & Non-Medicated finished goods; non-Medicated retail items.
  • Oversee the Receiving shipments of raw materials both physically, and electronically into the inventory system/ERP and measure the compliance standards.
  • Forecast Obsolete Inventory
  • Create Min / Max quantities at each site
  • Maintain physical inventory controls including access-controlled storage rooms for all inventoried items; chain of custody check sheets for any physical transfer of inventoried items; verification of all quantities & compliance information of completed production orders; verification of all quantities & compliance information of incoming orders; verification of recorded flower weights vs actual weight on all bulk flower.
  • Maintain electronic inventory controls through:
    • Real time reclassification or movement of inventoried items within the inventory system.
    • Performing weekly scheduled cycle counts across designated categories with investigation of discrepancies & reconciliation of inventory counts
    • Performing full monthly inventory audits with investigation of discrepancies & reconciliation of inventory counts
    • Conversion of material within the ERP
  • Maintain the raw materials "supermarket"
    • Work directly with other facility leaders to ensure all company policies are followed
    • Work with your direct supervisor on design & implementation of new processes to improve department efficiency
    • Communicate with Distribution Supervisor, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Sales Team regarding any customer or product concerns or items requiring follow-up.
    • Maintain accurate inventory (less than 1% variance.)
    • Operate a forklift to assist in loading/unloading
    • Continually participate in updated training

Position Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal communications and customer service skills.
  • Experience in a retail, hospitality, and sales setting is required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, forklift certification as required by the state, the union, and/or OSHA
  • Willingness to go above and beyond for our customers and for the team.
  • Basic sales skills & product knowledge.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to adapt on short notice based on customer needs -long shifts and some weekends may be required.
  • Ability to successfully handle high stress situations.
  • Able to work in a team and independently.
  • Able to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Self-driven with strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate through various formats including phone and email.
  • Must be over the age of 21 with reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally qualified to work in the US

Certificates & Licenses

  • Warehouse Management System knowledge preferably in ERP environment such as SAP a plus
  • Supply Chain Management certification a plus
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, Sigma Six, Agile Thinking
