Where you'll be planted:

To be blunt, this person will:

  • Coordinate centralized training needs, gather requirements, set expectations with each retail leader, track with appropriate metrics, and deliver training reports as requested.
  • Collaborate with internal SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) on content specific training which will provide the basis for course and certification program(s) development; using project management techniques to ensure that training programs meet requirements and are delivered on time.
  • Design, develop, collect, and deliver product specific content in partnership with external vendors.
  • Facilitate designated in-house training programs, both in person and virtual, as required.
  • Prepare training materials: guides, job aids, videos, etc.
  • Utilize eLearning and internal LMS platform development tools to create interactive online learning classes, inclusive of recording and editing audio, video, and other interactive elements to create a consistent and modern learning experience as these platforms become available.
  • Analyze and organize complex information to create professionally designed, engaging and effective programs.
  • Develop relevant activities (role play, case studies) to maximize learner's knowledge and skills development in order to transfer this learning back to the functional work environment.
  • Drive the entire retail training & education lifecycle from planning, development, recording, editing and deployment of the learning tools and solutions.
  • Identify KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and track data to identify and implement improvements to existing materials and continually seek ways to enhance the value and effectiveness of these solutions.
  • Established change management procedures for updating training requirements to ensure appropriate distribution of materials and consistent communication of changes.
  • Conduct independent research to augment and enhance course materials based on the most up-to-date education research.
  • Assist in the development and execution of processes and training plans that make the opening of new and acquired stores consistent, productive, efficient, and effective.
  • Facilitate retail, sales, and product training programs and materials in collaboration with the Learning and Development team and District/Area Managers to optimize knowledge, skill, and abilities in new teams.
  • Work hands on with the GM and new store team to ensure training standards are being executed during daily training sessions at turnover.
  • Ensure new hire orientation is set up & training schedules have been solidified.
  • Ensure readiness for all daily training days and timelines.
  • Provide ongoing support for stores.
  • Any additional duties as assigned by management.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years' experience as a retail leader or training and development manager.
  • Experience using content management eLearning tools.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, delivering, and tracking learning and education that builds performance, skills, and development.
  • Solid background in retail operations, leadership, training, and development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and learner-centric learning solutions.
  • Quickly adapts work to support changing priorities.
  • Must be an excellent teacher and possess the ability to take complex subjects and turn them into engaging, simple, and coherent training sessions.
  • Capable of seeing the big picture and understanding how this role impacts and influences the larger business.
  • Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with department leadership, SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and other stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Write clearly and succinctly, with strong attention to detail.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate and engage with project teams, SMEs, learners, and other stakeholders.
  • Practice active listening and probing questioning skills.
  • Travel up to 50-75%.
