Working Environment

The Stoney Moose is a busy retail store in the historic district of downtown Ketchikan - it looks like a set from a movie. Our sales team is friendly, knowledgable and experienced; we focus on cultivating personal relationships with out cliental. In summer, our store is fast-paced and very busy (Ketchikan gets over a million visitors every summer) while winters tend to be slower and focus on internal systems. We have a small team that are all dedicated to the success of the store.

About The Stoney Moose

The Stoney Moose began in 2017 as a 1-room cannabis retail and has since grown into a vertically integrated cannabis company that does it all!

The Stoney Moose is one of two cannabis retail stores in a busy cruise ship port on an island in Southeast Alaska - over one million visitors a year in this town of 12,000! We are located on Historic Creek street in beautiful downtown Ketchikan overlooking a salmon spawning stream rife with fish, eagles, seals, and mink.

Stoney Moose Kitchens is our manufacturing arm, opened in 2018 and serving high-quality organic cannabis edibles, beverages, topicals and confections. Our brand is strong, represented in over 50 retail stores across Alaska and we've won multiple awards for our unique and delicious product line.

Stoney Moose Farms is a living soil farm on the next island over, producing the finest nugs in Southeast Alaska. Most of our harvest goes to our own retail but our top flower is also well-represented in some of the finest retail stores in Alaska.

Our company has been growing non-stop since we began and we are in need of positive, hard-working folks to help take us to the next level.

Role Requirements

Responsibilities

Execute financial reporting responsibilities and money handling; plan purchasing/sale of both cannabis and non-cannabis products/merch; guide store staff in daily operations - be the number one support source for retail team; develop and maintain positive vendor relationships; maintain a clean, orderly and attractive sales floor; model positive and professional workplace communication (kindness, respect, courtesy, patience)

Physical Requirements

Manager should be able to lift moderate weights (25-30 lbs) and be able to stand for moderate periods of time (1-3 hours). This is not a physically demanding job.

Experience

Prior management / team leader experience is a must. Retail sales experience is a close second. Experience managing inventory and procurement is a huge plus. Understanding logistics unique to Alaska is helpful.

Education

Sales and management education will be incredibly helpful. Cannabis-specific knowledge is a must - you have to know what you are selling. Any education in these areas is a big plus.
