Summary
Supplier Managment:
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers of bulk biomass material from local, reliable cultivators.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers, ensuring the best value while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and ensure suppliers meet delivery deadlines and quality expectations.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Stay updated on local, state, and federal cannabis laws and regulations to ensure all procurement activities comply with legal requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation for all cannabis-related purchases, including tracking of cannabis from source to sale, in accordance with regulations.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet safety and regulatory standards.
Cost Management:
- Monitor and control costs associated with procurement and supply chain activities to stay within budgetary constraints.
- Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to recommend strategies for cost-effective procurement.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
Logistics and Delivery:
- Coordinate the timely delivery of cannabis inputs and materials to maintain seamless operations.
- Work closely with logistics teams to ensure proper handling and transportation of products.
- Address any supply chain disruptions or delays to maintain business continuity.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Track and report on procurement activities, inventory levels, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Provide recommendations based on market analysis, supplier performance, and inventory trends.
- Other duties may be assigned.
General
- Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain medical marijuana work credentials
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing - preferably in the cannabis industry
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of the cannabis industry, including regulations, sourcing practices, and market trends
- Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems
- Analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and make data-driven decisions
- Knowledge of compliance requirements related to cannabis products
