ROLE SUMMARY

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs vehicle inspections ensuring safety and compliance of fleet vehicles, with respect to all applicable DOT, Florida Chapter 381 regulations, and internal SOPs
  • Provides daily additional vehicle checks on long distance route assigned trucks and coordinates with Supervisor/Manager to identify/correct compliance and/or safety issues.
  • Tracks available Samsara hardware inventory (excel doc) and performs hardware installations/activations, uninstalls/deactivations, and related troubleshooting.
  • Uphold company standards of excellence and service, guaranteeing quality performance
  • Maintains best practices utilizing "lock out/tag out" approach when inspecting vehicles or performing inspections or minor repairs. Suggest training programs and techniques to improve processes and provides hands on training to complete daily vehicle inspections.
  • Tracks vehicle maintenance intervals using Samsara and coordinates with Supervisor/Management to schedule maintenance.
  • Monitor and evaluate safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum High School diploma
  • Minimum One (1) year of related functional experience in fleet management
  • Must have the ability to balance customer satisfaction requirements with organizational objectives
  • Able to work independently and make crucial decisions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal/ external contacts.
  • Organizational skills with a high aptitude for meeting objectives and maintaining detail orientation.
  • Aptitude to understand data to drive decisions
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Strongly self-motivated, to include studying and maintaining working knowledge of industry standards and trends
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties
  • Must be able to pass a level 1 and level 2 background check and drug screening
