We are seeking another new member of our growing Product innovation team: an Application Scientist who will support the development of innovative product prototypes in the inhalable segment (vapes, infused pre-rolls, and so on).

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in cementing our position as the true industry leader in delivering innovative solutions across terpene, cannabis sensory, active ingredients, and flavor platforms.

Your contributions and work will enhance our strategic vision of building “Lifetime Loyalty” by positioning True Terpenes as the go-to provider, addressing clients' systemic challenges with firsthand expertise to demonstrate that we are innovators beyond just flavors.

We are on a fast-growth trajectory. This position is offered with a competitive base salary, bonus, and equity, and is onsite at our state-of-the-art showcase facility in Hillsboro. The salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on experience, knowledge, and skills. • Independently manages and executes applications projects, focusing on smoke and vape product solutions that meet market demands through benchtop innovation and consumer insights
• Conduct laboratory experiments to assess physical, chemical, and sensory attributes of various cannabis extracts, concentrates, and related products.
• Stress tests ingredients for flavor or effect impact over a wide range of catalog options
• Develops and maintains detailed documentation of all formulations and processes
• Conducts sensory evaluations and taste tests to assess the flavor and overall palatability of our products.
• Increases internal True Terpenes’s knowledge of applications/end-use products and their creation processes
• Assists with researching market trends and consumer preferences to inform product development
• Builds TT's reputation as a center of innovation excellence, increasing client motivation and reliance on True Terpenes.
• Bridges the gap between product innovation and market success
• Collaborates and transfers knowledge to cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Client Services, and Product Development
• Ensures lab equipment and workspace are maintained in compliance with regulatory and safety standards
• Provides general laboratory support, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness
• Assists with creating and validating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to product applications

What You Will Bring

• 3-5 years of experience in cannabis inhalable product development
• Extensive experience formulating with cannabis inputs: Distillate, Concentrates, Flower, Terpenes, Isolates
• Strong understanding of cannabis market trends and consumer needs
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and translate market trends into successful product applications
• Understanding of cannabis lab equipment and procedures
• Experience in creating and validating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for product applications
• Ability to translate and teach technical processes to non-technical partners
