About the Role:
How you'll make a difference:
- Oversee and manage the operations of Canopy USA's transactional services, which supports all business units across the Americas.
- Manage shared accounts receivable and accounts payable operations across the entities, ensuring consistent alignment with Canopy USA's strategy and initiatives.
- Build and improve the transactional service process through the processes and systems, including setting priorities, negotiating deliverables, and monitoring performance to optimize shared services processing companywide.
- Guide and provide leadership for the transactional service team - AR, AP and Payroll functions.
- Drive process improvements of accounting transactional services, achieving cost efficiencies through scale, process optimization, and enhanced accuracy and controls. This will include exploring further expansion into administrative functions and business support areas.
- Collaborate closely with other finance functions, IT, and HR leaders to align shared services with current and future business needs.
- Ensure robust communication, change management, and training plans are developed and executed to support smooth transitions and implementations across all shared services initiatives.
- Establishes, implements and executes financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems
People Management
- Manages AP, AR and Payroll reporting functions
- Continually identifies and implements business process improvements in partnership with other members of the Accounting & Finance Team
- Hires, trains and develops their team in accordance with company policies, practices, and procedures
- Conducts regular meetings with assigned employees to assess goals, objectives, and task performance and identify developmental opportunities.
Other Duties
Skills to be Successful:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field.
- Seven (7) or more years of accounts receivable and/or accounts payable experience with at least three (3) or more years in a supervisory role
- Experience in a high-volume, fast paced start up environment
- Demonstrated proficiency and expert knowledge in GL Coding
- Strong oral and written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Computers and Technology
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Accounting System proficiency ( experience in Dynamics 365 a plus)
