Strategic Decision Support
- Partner with the Vice President - Finance on strategic initiatives, internal reports, analytics, and special projects
- Streamline budgeting and forecasting cycles, working to reduce the time and resources required while increasing the quality and accuracy of the business projections
- Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
- Drive continuous improvement in financial planning and reporting processes, focusing on enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of deliverables.
- Work closely with accounting to provide input on management reporting needs and to ensure proper controls and infrastructure are in place
- Serve as a financial lead on cross-functional initiatives, including production planning
- Have a deep understanding of the Company's and its Portfolio Companies' operations, drivers, KPI's, levers, and business economics
- Conduct research on the cannabis industry, competitors, and capital markets, including market multiples and comparable ratios
Corporate Financial Planning
- Oversee the company's long-range financial model - incorporating retail, wholesale, and production inputs
- Maintain and update cash flow forecasts - integrating operational drivers and financing assumptions
- Partner with FP&A to ensure alignment between internal data, forecasts, and strategic initiatives
Partnership & Expansion Economics
- Develop unit economics and ROI models for brand partnerships, licensing opportunities, CapEx investment, and other initiatives - gathering assumptions and ultimately creating business cases that can substantiate the rationale for any such initiatives
- Oversee financial aspects of vendor negotiations, funding issues, and related efforts
- Support performance tracking of licensed brands
Board & Investor Communications
- Own financial content development for board decks, investor updates, and leadership materials
- Translate financial results and outlook into compelling insights for executive-level stakeholders
- Prepare financial presentations and documents for Shareholders, Board Member requests and various other third parties on both a routine and ad-hoc basis.
People Management
- Hires, trains, and develops assigned staff in accordance with company policies, practices, and procedures
- Conducts regular meetings with assigned employees to assess goals, objective, and task performance
- Proactively identifies and implements developmental opportunities for assigned staff
- Supports building an inclusive culture where employees thrive, and organizational goals are achieved
- Leads, manages, and develops a high-performing team through effective communication, empowerment, and coaching and development techniques

Skills to be Successful
:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA is preferred;
- 8-10 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting;
- Strong financial, strategic, and analytical skills;
- Experience with financial principles with an understanding of P&L, balance sheets, and principles of cost control and management;
- Proven expertise in business analysis, including budgeting and forecasting, in a multi-unit business environment;
- Ability to interpret, understand and manipulate complex data;
- M&A/Transaction experience
- Excel mastery and proven experience in building strong financial models required.
- Advanced level experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in NetSuite and data analytic tools
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects in order to meet aggressive deadlines
