Summary
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
- Provide effective leadership, fostering alignment with the company's mission, vision, and values to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Supervise the daily production of cannabis-infused products within the production laboratory, ensuring adherence to all operational, safety, and compliance protocols.
- Utilize scientific principles to guide formulation and product development processes.
- Monitor and maintain production logs, laboratory notebooks, and batch records with precision and accuracy.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment used in infused product manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and state regulations, including equipment use, labeling, and batch documentation.
- Support quality assurance by reviewing analytical testing results (e.g., HPLC, GC, microbial testing) and ensuring products meet internal standards and regulatory specifications.
- Assist in implementing new methods to enhance product quality, technical capabilities, and operational efficiency.
- Support inventory audits and ensure accurate data entry within the seed-to-sale tracking system.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary laboratory and production space; ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working condition.
- Collaborate with management to draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production sequences and product formulations.
- Assist with compliance activities, including creation of batch records and product labeling per Pennsylvania regulations.
- Mentor and support team members with hands-on leadership and guidance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Formulation Chemistry, Biochemistry, Manufacturing, Food Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, OR 2+ years of hands-on cannabis manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a production or lab setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cannabis product manufacturing, including formulation, extraction, and various routes of administration.
- Experience working in regulated environments with a strong focus on compliance, documentation, and safety.
- Strong math and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with laboratory equipment such as vacuum ovens, filling equipment, hot plates, etc.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid State ID or driver's license.
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent sitting and walking; occasional bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and crawling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Good manual dexterity and visual acuity required for equipment use and document review.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with team members and management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor production areas.
- Must be able to work in hot, humid environments with exposure to dust, allergens, and moisture.
- Use of appropriate PPE is required.
- Extended periods of standing, kneeling, and twisting in confined spaces may be required.
