Responsibilities
- Direct the daily operations of the preparation, infusion, and post-infusion processing of cannabis products in accordance with State and local standards.
- Design and implement the overall infusion laboratory processes and procedures set forth by the company's SOP's, adhering to all state regulations.
- Ensure all SOPs, checklists, and other relevant documents are up to date, and all employees have been trained and certified as proficient.
- Meet departmental goals related to efficiency, yield, and cost.
- Responsible for infusion-related kitchen equipment design, sourcing, and procurement.
- Maintaining, tracking, and controlling non-cannabis raw material inventory
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to identify priorities, improve operational capabilities, and set/meet deadlines.
- Optimize the infusion process and procedures, and identify cost-saving opportunities over time.
- Ensure the sanitation of all equipment and tools, including workspace, infusion lab equipment, containers, and appliances.
- Ensure consistency and efficacy of the product through quality control testing and procedures.
- Adhere to Quality Management Systems and Processes, including GMP/GAP practices, as directed by the Operations Manager.
- Train, plan, schedule, and direct the performance of assigned staff.
- Continually develop an extensive and comprehensive knowledge base of cannabis infusion methods.
- Serve as a role model and resource for laboratory staff concerning products and services, policies and procedures, industry news, and changes in regulations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, local, and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Work with the Operations manager to send samples for regular testing of infused product and document all results for compliance with state regulations to the local, state-approved laboratory.
- Manage, monitor, and upkeep all METRC inventory tracking for edible products through the workflow
- Research and develop opportunities for product SKU expansion within the edible portfolio
- Manage and complete payroll timesheets through the company software programs biweekly.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Culinary degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in confectionery production, including candies, chocolates, cookies, brownies, and similar products.
- Minimum of three (3) years of management experience within a commercial kitchen or food production. environment.
- Experience with food infusion required; cannabis oil infusion experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software systems.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
- Strong time-management and multitasking abilities in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation, with strong research and data organization skills.
- Ability to develop, write, and maintain clear and concise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Effective leadership and sound decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Every job applicant must pass a comprehensive background check, including the mandates of the local cannabis control commission. - Must be willing and able to occasionally work a flexible schedule as the business needs demand, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Regularly required to walk; kneel; stoop; bend; twist in tight areas, repetitive use of hands for all functions.
- Must be able to lift 10lbs with each hand and pick up to 50lbs.
- The employee must be able to sit or stand for long durations.
- The employee must be able to work in hot, humid environments and tolerate exposure to workplace elements such as dust, allergens, and water.
