  • Identify opportunities to combine freight volumes, carriers, routes, distribution points, and transportation contracts across operating companies

  • Develop scalable logistics processes capable of supporting future acquisitions
  • Establish a comprehensive baseline of enterprise freight spend

  • Lead negotiations and competitive bidding processes across major freight and supplier categories
  • Consolidate enterprise purchasing power where economically advantageous
  • Develop carrier scorecards and contractual service expectations
  • Continuously evaluate market pricing, capacity, service levels, and alternative providers
  • Truck: full truckload, less-than-truckload, dedicated transportation, 3PL/brokerage, intermodal opportunities, and direct-to-customer/DC deliveries
  • Rail: railcar utilization and economics, rail routing and scheduling, demurrage reduction, and rail-versus-truck economics
  • Ocean & Container: overseas container movement, East/West Coast port strategy, drayage, container utilization, and demurrage/detention reduction
  • Own import transportation efficiency and overseas container movement strategy
  • Manage port and terminal costs and inland drayage across coastal gateways
  • Build enterprise visibility into cross-border and international freight flows to support future global sourcing
  • Evaluate the current national distribution footprint across Prolific Supply
  • Identify shared distribution locations supporting multiple operating companies
  • Analyze cross-docking, shipment consolidation, and pooling opportunities
  • Support future facility and distribution-network decisions using quantitative freight and service-level analysis
  • Support migration toward a unified warehouse management system and enterprise ERP integration
  • Define freight and transportation data requirements and evaluate TMS capabilities
  • Use technology and data to improve routing, visibility, carrier management, and forecasting
  • Establish a standardized enterprise freight scorecard: total freight spend, cost per shipment, on-time performance, carrier service, utilization, detention/demurrage, claims, and cost savings versus baseline
  • Provide management with clear visibility into cost, service, trends, exceptions, and financial impact
  • Assess acquired-company freight networks and contracts, and identify immediate transportation synergies
  • Consolidate carrier and 3PL relationships where appropriate and evaluate distribution-network overlap
  • Quantify integration savings and EBITDA opportunities with clear implementation timelines

What you've accomplished:

  • Significant transportation, freight, logistics, distribution, or supply-chain leadership experience in large-scale distribution and/or manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience negotiating fees and contracts with carriers, 3PLs, and suppliers, including competitive bidding across major freight categories
  • Hands-on expertise across multi-modal freight management, including truckload, LTL, rail, intermodal, and international/ocean container transportation
  • Experience managing an international or cross-border supply chain, including port strategy, drayage, and import transportation
  • Track record in distribution-network optimization and freight procurement/contract management
  • Experience with ERP, WMS, and transportation-management technology, including systems conversion and integration
  • Experience operating across multi-company or multi-location organizations, including M&A integration
  • A sophisticated, data-driven negotiator who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and communicates effectively across operations, sales, supply chain, finance, and executive leadership

What we offer:
