How you'll make a difference

Operational Duties

Examine and verify identification of persons wishing to access the facility
Circulate among visitors and/or employees to preserve order and protect property
Ensure that all inventory and supplies are properly monitored at all times
Document the time of arrival and departure for all visitors including, vendors and contractors
Distribute identification badges to all non-employee visitors and collect at the end of the visit
Monitor and review security cameras
Transfer security footage to thumb drive and maintain drives orderly and in a secure location
In the event of emergency, secure staff, visitors, and building; act as liaison with local police or law enforcement
Maintain daily written or electronic tracking sheets, noting all activity on premises
Escort staff members or others between vehicles and building as requested

Administrative Duties:

Maintains daily records of all visitors and guests
Document any incidents, accidents, and report them to the manager

Skills to be Successful

High school diploma or equivalent - Required
Associate degree or higher, criminal justice background or related field - Preferred
Minimum 4 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or related field - Required
Work history in facilities and/or maintenance/engineering or related qualifications, showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges - Required
Knowledge of computer and office equipment and programs (inventory systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)
Ability to follow specific directions and instructions
Ability to work effectively as team member, and independently
Ability to communicate clearly and calmly
Ability to remain calm in periods of high stress or unusual activity
Ability to maintain confidentiality and absolute reliability and honesty
Ability to work in a diverse, inclusive and multicultural environment

Schedule

6am to 5:30pm

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet
Close visual focus required
This position occasionally requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects
