As part of our cultivation team, you will be responsible for assisting in the production and maintenance of high-quality cannabis plants. Role Requirements
Responsibilities
- Seedling and clone care: Assist in the propagation process by planting and caring for cannabis seedlings and clones.
- Plant maintenance: Conduct daily checks and monitoring of plants to ensure optimal growth conditions. This includes watering, pruning, trellising, and removing pests or diseased plants.
- Nutrient management: Prepare and administer nutrient solutions to plants, ensuring compliance with established protocols for feeding plants at different stages of growth.
- Harvesting and trimming: Participate in the harvesting process by cutting, drying, and trimming plants to meet quality standards. Collaborate with the cultivation team in post-harvest tasks, such as bucking and packing.
- Data collection: Accurately record and maintain cultivation data, including plant inventories, yield forecasts, and other relevant information.
- Cleaning and sanitation: Ensure that cultivation rooms, equipment, and tools are properly cleaned and sanitized in adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to local and state regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assistance in facility maintenance: Collaborate with the facility team to ensure proper operation and maintenance of cultivation equipment. Report any equipment issues for timely resolution.
- Collaboration and communication: Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights, challenges, and ideas to improve cultivation processes.
- Comply with safety standards: Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe work environment by following established guidelines for the handling of chemicals and other hazardous materials.
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds if relevant to job duties listed above.
- Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the workday.
- Proficiency in ladder climbing and operating from heights of up to 15 feet from ground level while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in horticulture, specifically in cannabis cultivation (preferred).
- Knowledge of plant biology, nutrient requirements, pest management, and cultivation techniques.
- Familiarity with controlled environment agriculture (CEA) and hydroponic cultivation systems.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in a physically demanding role, including standing, bending, and lifting to 50 pounds.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of local and state regulations governing cannabis cultivation (preferred).
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
