Summary

Position Summary
---------------
The Chemical Applicator is responsible for safely and accurately mixing and applying pesticides and other chemicals as directed by the Manager. This role requires maintaining precise records of all products and quantities used, servicing and cleaning equipment, and monitoring systems such as filters and drainage. The Chemical Applicator plays a key role in supporting the cultivation team by ensuring compliance with safety standards and biosecurity protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
------------------------------------

Accurately mix chemicals with water in sprayer tanks and apply pesticides in the required amounts.
Operate and adjust sprayer nozzles, tubes, and hoses during applications and cleaning.
Perform routine maintenance and servicing of equipment to ensure efficiency and reliability.
Follow all OSHA regulations and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Adhere to biosecurity protocols in a greenhouse environment.
Maintain accurate logs of chemical usage and application details.
Read and write measurements in ounces and pounds.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Competencies

Basic knowledge of agricultural chemicals and safe handling practices.
Ability to read and interpret chemical labels accurately.
Skilled in operating chemical application equipment; forklift experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Education and Experience
-----------------------
1–2 years of experience in a greenhouse or agricultural environment.
Minimum 1 year of experience applying pesticides or agricultural chemicals.
Hands-on experience operating and maintaining sprayers, floaters, or similar equipment (preferred).

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older
Authorized to work in the United States.
Flexible availability, including weekends.
Minimum 40-hour workweek commitment.
Positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing tasks.
Ability to use necessary tools and equipment to perform job duties.

Frequently required to stand for extended periods, walk, sit, and use hands/arms.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move objects weighing 15–50 pounds.
Comfort working with tools and equipment necessary for chemical application.

Work Environment
---------------
Work is primarily performed in a greenhouse setting, which may include high humidity, varying temperatures, and exposure to moisture.
Occasional travel between office and farm sites may be required.
