About the Role:

Extraction Technician

How you'll make a difference:

  • Responsible for safely and effectively performing all methods of cannabis extraction, winterization, filtration, ethanol recovery and distillation in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Prepares and operates equipment for processing, which may include but is not limited to an extractor, solvent reclamation, and extract refinement; uses equipment to extract and refine plant materials in accordance with Company standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Prepares formulations according to batch records and assists in other formulation related tasks assigned by Extraction Manager.
  • Performs inventory control actions, including, but not limited to, weighing, labeling, packaging, product logging, and recording all measurable data in accordance with state regulations.
  • Adhere to specific quality control SOPs regarding procedural operations and quality of product produced; verify quality control standards are being met throughout the process.
  • Maintains a clean, compliant, and safe work environment; responsible for reporting any necessary compliance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Meets daily goals, extraction objectives, and KPIs set by management.
  • Assists with other tasks as assigned by the Extraction Manager.

Skills to be Successful:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related sciences field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of laboratory and/or production experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary focus and attention to detail.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be of the minimum age required by state regulations.
  • Ability to pass state mandated background check(s)
  • Ability to understand and apply basic laboratory terminology and concepts

Computers and Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment
  • Must be able to interpret and follow complex written, verbal, and technical instructions

Schedule

  • Available to work Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm ET, with flexibility for mandatory overtime as required to meet business needs **

Work Environment and Physical Demands

    • Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching.
    • The ability to carry up to 50lbs for up to 100ft may be required.
    • Ability to complete regular repetitive arm/hand tamping movement required to pack socks.
    • This position requires extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and/or manipulate small objects.
    • Ability to work in a range of hot and cold temperature extremes
    • Must wear provided/required PPE including lab coat/coveralls, hair/beard nets, gloves, surgical masks, safety glasses, goggles, splash shield, etc. while working in the laboratory.
