CORE JOB DUTIES

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform preventive maintenance (inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust) on pumps, HVAC equipment, boilers, valves, agricultural sprayers, industrial dehumidifiers.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures using diagnostic devices and dismantle machinery to repair or replace defective components.
  • Ensure automated equipment and systems remain operational through routine checks and technical troubleshooting.

Facility Upkeep

  • Maintain building systems including lighting, HVAC, life safety, and security fencing.
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, and structural repairs or installations as needed.

Technical Operations

  • Read and interpret blueprints, machine prints, schematics, and service manuals for repairs and utility installations.
  • Install piping systems (compressed air, irrigation piping, drainage systems) and industrial electrical control circuits.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and work orders using CMMS software (computerized maintenance management system)

Safety & Independence

  • Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and use required PPE (hearing, eyewear, shoes).
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to identify and resolve maintenance needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Technical Expertise : Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and electrical systems. Proficiency with hand/power tools.
  • Problem-Solving : Ability to quickly diagnose issues and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience : 3+ years of industrial/commercial building maintenance required
  • Education : High school diploma or GED required; specialized technical training, apprenticeships, or an associate degree in industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Certifications : HVAC Certification is highly preferred. NFPA 70E, EPA 608, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to torso level.
  • Capacity to sit, stand, kneel, and perform repetitive hand actions for long periods.
  • Willingness to work around plant materials, including potential exposure to pollen and dust.
